How an AI deck gets built
AI is good at choosing words for a goal and less reliable with the details. So it only does the first step. Wherever a word matches our dictionary, the picture, audio and example come from content our team has reviewed.

You describe it
Write a goal in your own words (up to 200 characters) or tap one of six examples: Travel, Restaurant, Work, Doctor, Small talk or Exam. The level, Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced, starts from your lesson progress and you can change it.

AI picks 20 words
The AI chooses words that fit your goal and level, each with a translation and an example sentence. Words already in your decks are skipped, so a second deck on the same topic brings new words.

Our dictionary checks them
Every word is matched against our team-reviewed dictionary of about 6,000 words per language. Matches bring their reviewed picture, native audio and example. Anything without a match still gets native audio within about a minute.
Before you save, you see the whole deck. Remove words you don't want, rename it or change its icon. Saved decks carry a gold "AI" badge. Want more on the same topic? Tap Generate 20 more.

Questions people ask
Is it accurate?
The AI chooses the words, then every word is checked against our dictionary of about 6,000 words per language, which our team has reviewed. Words that match come with the picture, native audio and example sentence from that dictionary. You also see the whole deck before saving it and can remove any word you don’t want.
Which languages does it work in?
AI decks are built for the language you are learning, in any of the 29 Flashcardly courses, with translations in your own language.
Is it free?
No, AI decks are part of Pro. Pro members can generate up to 10 decks a day. Free members can still build their own decks by hand and add words from our premade decks.
What if my request doesn’t work?
If what you type isn’t a language-learning goal, or we can’t find enough words for it, the app tells you and that attempt doesn’t count toward your daily limit.
Can I study an AI deck like my other decks?
Yes. Once saved it is a normal deck: its words go through the same spaced-repetition boxes, and Pro lets you play the practice games with it too.
