What happens in one lesson part

A part covers 4 new words and takes about five minutes. Each step uses the same words a different way: seeing, hearing, recalling and playing.

  1. Step 1

    Warm-up

“A quick warm-up before the new lesson”

A short Word Match with words from earlier lessons. If some of your words are due, you get a quick refresh of those instead.

  2. Step 2

    Flashcards

    “Tap to flip”

Meet the new words with a picture and native audio. Flip for the translation and an example, then choose Know It! or Again.

  3. Step 3

    Listening

    “Listen carefully”

The same words come back in a new order, audio first. Listen to each one, then swipe on.

  4. Step 4

    Quiz

    “What is the word for:”

See the meaning in your language and pick the right word from the options. A perfect score earns bonus XP.

  5. Step 5

    Bonus round

    “Bonus Round!”

An optional quick game with the same words: Audio Match, Type It Out or Sentence Builder. Skip it if you are short on time.

When a part is done, its words go into your spaced-repetition boxes and come back for review on the right day.
