1 and 2 change with the noun: um livro, uma casa; dois livros, duas casas. Counting aloud you say um, dois.
Big numbers in Portuguese: hundreds, thousands, a million
cem is exactly 100; with more after it, cento: cento e um (101). Irregular hundreds: duzentos, trezentos, quinhentos. mil takes no “um”. Brazil says um bilhão for a billion, Portugal mil milhões.
Portuguese numbers in real sentences
Age uses ter (“to have”): tenho trinta anos = I am thirty.
More number words: half, a dozen, percent
These 16 words and all 32 numbers from the course are in lessons 7, 20, 21 and 85 of the Flashcardly app.
