1. Our Commitment

Mindflow Labs, s.r.o. is committed to making digital language learning accessible to everyone. We continually strive to improve the user experience for all individuals, including those with disabilities, by applying the relevant accessibility standards to the Flashcardly mobile app and the flashcardly.io website.

2. Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

Flashcardly targets conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We routinely test our application and website to ensure our interfaces remain usable for as broad an audience as possible.

3. Accessibility Features

To ensure our application is accessible, we actively support and implement the following features:

  • Dynamic Type / Text Scaling: Support for system-level text resizing preferences on both iOS and Android platforms without breaking the app layout.
  • Screen Reader Compatibility: Ongoing optimization for native screen readers, including Apple VoiceOver and Google TalkBack, to ensure core study paths are navigable.
  • Color Contrast: Utilizing a UI palette that meets the contrast ratio requirements set by WCAG 2.1 AA for both text and interactive elements.
  • Predictable Navigation: Maintaining logical focus orders and consistent layout structures throughout our lessons and menus.

4. Known Limitations

While we strive for comprehensive accessibility, you may occasionally encounter limitations:

  • Custom User Content: Decks and flashcards created by other users may not always contain descriptive tags, proper capitalization, or text that is easily read by screen readers.
  • Third-Party Integrations: Payment gateways or authentication portals provided by Apple or Google may fall outside our direct control regarding their specific accessibility compliance.
